Opened in May of 2001, the new Freybe Plant is a state-of-the-art facility geared towards optimum food safety and quality. Following visits to numerous industry-leading meat packing plants in Europe, it is the culmination of four years of careful planning and consultation – a space that embodies the forward-thinking traditions of our company.
The new Freybe specialty meat packing plant is an environmentally responsible, open production system with a uniquely modern design. Vacuum packaging areas, or “clean rooms,” feature positive airflow that eliminates the most miniscule of carton dust. At 4° Celsius, these packaging areas provide optimum quality conditions, with a high-speed product cooling system essential for bacteria control.
Most production areas are visible at any time from an upper visitor deck. The addition of a total smokehouse data retrieval system for quality control and process tracking serves to further enhance the production process; ensuring that everything is run as smoothly and safely as possible.
